Chapter 4 Quadratic Equation
Math Part-I Chapter-IV "Quadratic Equation"
Following are the key points that should be kept in mind while preparing chapter 4 in perspective of Entrance test of Universities.
- In standard form of a quadratic equation , if 'b=0' and 'a is not zero' the Quadratic Equation is called PURE quadratic equation.
- The co-efficient of the terms equidistant from beginning and end are equal in Reciprocal Equations that are reducible to quadratic equations.
- While solving a radical equation we first get a radical-free equation and then solve this radical-free equation.Every solution of Radical-free equation is not neccessarily solution of original radical equation but each solution of original radical equation is neccessarily a solution of radical-free equation.
- 1+w+(w^2)=0 and 1(w)(w^2)=1.
- Three consecutive powers of 'omega' add up to give 'zero'.
- Product of Three consecutive powers of 'omega' is always 'Unity'.
- Four fourth roots and their properties.
- Definition of a Polynomial , degree and leading co-efficient.
- For a Polynomial , number of roots is less or equal to Degree of Polynomial.
- Relations between roots and co-efficients of quadratic equation.
- Discriminante and nature of roots.
- Use simple substitution trick for last two Exercises.
- Be fast in your skills to find out the quadratic equation when roots are given usind sum and product of roots.
