Test Taking Strategies

21:10:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Remember, learning test taking strategies are as important as study preparation for Entry-Test. A lot of intelligent student fail the test because they are not aware of test taking strategies. Test taking strategies tell you
How to divide time over MCQs to complete test in time
How to maximize your accuracy chances in answering MCQs
And many more relevant things

Tips for attempting MCQs

In MCQs test, usually time is short. You have 2 minutes or one and a half minute for each MCQ, so divide the time on all MCQs properly.
Read the MCQ and before reading the choices, think in your mind for correct answer and then read the choices. It will help you to choose the correct choice or the answer.
There will be some choices about which you will be sure that they are wrong, skip these wrong choices first and focus on the rest choices for correct answer. It increase the your chances to select the correct choice.

Solve these MCQs first, which you can easily answer and leave which think is difficult for last. If you stick to one MCQ trying to find its answer and it takes your time, leave it because it hinders and when you finish all MCQs then come back to the un-attempted MCQs.

For answering MCQs you are given a “computer sensitive sheet”. It has blocks or circles on it, you have to darken the block or the circle for correct answer. Learn the correct way how to darken blocks or circles on computer sensitive sheet because computer reads it for giving you marks.

Difference between CS and IT

00:02:00 Unknown 0 Comments

COMPUTER SCIENCE (CS):
Computer scientist, in fact, scientists. They are focused with the theory of computational applications. That mean they understand the "why" behund computer Programs. using algorithims and advanced maths, Computer scientist invent new ways to manipulate and transfer information. Computer scientist are generally concerned with Softwares, operating system and implementation.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT):
information technology may adopt the monikers information systems or system adminstration. Essentially IT professionals are thr user of Technology. IT utilizes existing operating systems,Softwares and applications in tandem to create a large system that solves a specific buiness problem. IT construct a network from established building block to carry out a task such as an automated supplies odering service.

If you want to repeat MCAT

23:57:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I wanna share my story with those who wanna try their luck again..

Hey guys, asalam O alaikum, results may have been very disappointing for u all... Some may have had their dream come true while others had just nothing. So what? It does not matter if your thinking to try in some other field.. Best of luck.
But if ur going to examine ur luck again, then u should be confident about ur decision.
I was also a victim of this test failing shit last year. I was a pre-medical student and attempted to get admission in a medical college. But competition last year was high and test was damn EASY. I tried my best but my FSC aggregate was not enough supporting. 81.5 was my result.
It was an expected result which drastically effected me, but for a single night only. The very next day, i woke up with a mind set of trying once again for MBBS. Even though my family was not much happy after this decision of mine. But i had already made my mind. I improved in FSC, and studied through out the year keenly. Their was also a risk of not getting admission again. So without wasting my whole year, i applied in B.S chemistry at the other side. But attendance was very low at their as i had to study at home...

though i didnt join at prep centers this time. All the time i had a question arising in my mind that what if these awl my efforts just go in vain? What if i dont selected this year too?
And awl these things made me to start offering prayers 5 times a day.
As namaz is a key to success, so here I am, selected this year in my desired medical college.

some times ur not supposed to give up. Some times ur supposed to believe in urself, stand up and try one more time.
May be ur luck is a bit slow than that of others.
And according to me, luck is not all u have. Besides luck, hardwork is the ladder to success. So dont blame ur luck too much, it is also possible that ur prep was somewhere not complete.
Best of luck for those who have made their minds to appear in test again nxt year. Wish u awl get ur desired field. Aameen.

Comparison of UET, NUST and GIKI

23:12:00 Unknown 17 Comments

A Comparison of Top Universities of Pakistan:

I graduated from NUST. Did Masters from UET Taxila. Served a Campus of UET Lahore for 2 Years. Served in EME College, NUST for 2 Years, Served at UET Taxila for 6 years. Interacted with graduates and faculty from all universities.

Here is my summary of observations;

Top 3 engineering universities in Pakistan regardless of what HEC says are;
UETs (UET Lahroe and Taxila), GIKI, NUST
Note: The order above is trivial

GIKI Graduates are damn good at communication skills. But lack in technical skills
UET Graduates are damn good at technical skills but lack in communication skills
NUST Graduates are slightly less good than GIKI in communication skills and slightly less good than UET in technical skills.

You may say NUST is the worst of both worlds or the best of both worlds, perspective is your choice
Another unique feature of NUST is Civil + Military interaction
Military interaction is not really an incentive truly but a valuable insight keeping in mind Pakistani perspective. It helps a lot

I do not mean to prove superiority or inferiority of any university. Just like Men and Women are different but equal so is the case with these 3 universities.

When organizations need people with exceptional communication skills mostly GIKI graduate gets 1st preference, NUST Graduate 2nd and UET 3rd (Exceptions to it are always there)

When organizations need people with technical skills, the preference becomes; 1. UET 2. NUST 3. GIKI (Once again exceptions are always there)

When organizations need people with a mix; NUST graduate becomes the ultimate choice.

Its my humble opinion. Not final by any means. I am open to any logical disagreements / additions to it.

Benefits of Final Year Project

17:41:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Benefits of final year project

Your final year project (BE) can help you in the following ways:

1. You can increase your overall percentage by scoring 90 to 95% marks through a good project
.
2. An industry-oriented project can add extra weightage to your resume and help you get a good job in the core mechanical industry.

3. A technically good project can give you an added advantage if you are planning for higher studies in US, UK, Germany etc.
Hence, make your final-year project valuable even if it takes a little more time and effort.

Choose the right industry
You can choose one of the following industries for your project:
Aerospace, Automobile, Marine, HVAC, Oil & Gas, Industrial, Turbo-machines, Machine-tools, Appliances etc.

Choose the right type
You can choose one of the following types:
a. Experimental Projects:
a.i. This type of projects need good lab-facilities and hi-tech instruments for measuring your experimental set-up accurately. Only some univ have such facilities. Students from private colleges try their best but mostly end-up in cooking-up the results or change the project at the last moment due to non-availability of the above facilities.
a.ii. Also it involves more time and cost for setting up the project for those students who are already tightly scheduled with final-exams or campus interviews.
a.iii. This type is feasible for those who don’t have such constraints.

b. Design Projects:
a.i. CAE Projects – Stress analysis, dynamic analysis etc. of aero, auto or mechanical systems can be done through these projects. New design, Improving performance, optimization can be accomplished. FEM based software like ANSYS, NASTRAN, RADIOSS, HYPERMESH etc. can be used.
a.ii. CFD Projects – Flow analysis, Thermal analysis, Aerodynamics improvement are the typical projects. This uses software like FLUENT, STAR-CCM+ are used for CFD analysis.
a.iii. Flexibility and accuracy are the major advantages in this type of projects.
a.iv. However it needs some additional training. To know more…

Job Opportunities
Interviewers give more weightage for good projects.
CAE or CFD projects in Aerospace and automobile systems have more job opportunities in Pakistan, India, US, Europe and Japan.
At the same time HVAC, Oil & Gas, Marine have good opportunities in Gulf.
Choose a RELEVANT project
Go ahead and choose the right project using the above factors. All the best….

Some Project Titles.
CFD projects in Automobile Industry
Design Optimization of Diesel Engine Manifold using CFD Simulations
Improving the mileage of a passenger car through aerodynamics re-design using CFD Techniques
CFD projects in Aerospace Industry
Prediction and minimization of drag on an aircraft wing using CFD Analysis
Design of aircraft safety systems using CFD analysis
CAE project in Automobile Industry
Design optimization of chassis of a truck using CAE analysis
Redesign of a suspension system for passenger car using CAE analysis
